How do I create a tab tab-delimited text file?


Depending on which spreadsheet software you are using, follow the steps below to save your file in the correct format.

Using Microsoft Excel

Excel:
  1. Open the File menu and select Save As...

  2. In the file destination window, look for the Save as type dropdowndrop-down, box.

Select theselect Text (tab Tab-delimited) (*.txt) option.

Click Save.

If Excel displays warning messages about formatting or features being lost,appear, click OK or Yes.

Using Google SheetsSheets:

  1. Open the File menu in the top-left corner.

  2. Hover over the Download option.

  3. Select Tab-separated values (.tsv, current sheet).

The file will automatically download to your computer.

This downloads the currently selected sheet as a .tsv file.

How to Fix Reversed Names

To correct the name order for your entire roster, follow these steps:

1. Correct Your Source File

    Open your original spreadsheet (Excel or Google Sheets).

    Swapupdates the First Name and Last Name columnsfields so they are in the correct positions.accordingly.

    Ensure your Student IDs (or email addresses, depending on your account setup) remain unchanged.

    2. Re-Import the File

      Navigate to the Import section in your Admin UI.

      Select your corrected file and proceed with the import process as you did previously.
