Directing Parents to a Predetermined Event

You can directroute parents directly to a specific event based on their student's grade. Forfor example, ashowing parent of a student in gradeGrade 9 wouldparents only see the gradeGrade 9 event, a parent of a student in grade 10 would only see the grade 10Counseling event, and soGrade on.10 parents only the Grade 10 Counseling event.

Each parent contact will be associated with a unique EventID. This connection is madeworks by importing a parent file with a column labeled EventID. Each row should be filled with the unique event identifier for the event that thelinks each parent shouldto haveone access(or to.more) EventID(s). When that parent logs in, theythey'll would ONLYonly see the eventevent(s) theythey've hadbeen access to.assigned.

First, create

Step 1: Create the parentParent file.

File

This file lists all the parents. TheYour parent file must containinclude the following fields:columns:

    Field Description ParentID identifies the parent First contains the first name of the parent Last contains the last name of the parent Email contains the parent's email address. Only one email address should be entered here. EventID (special column) - contains event ID. The EventID is the uniqueUnique identifier for the eventparent that the First Parent's first name Last Parent's last name Email Parent's email address (one only) EventID The event(s) this parent should have access to.to These unique ID #'s

    In your parent file, fill the EventID column with the EventID # corresponding to the event the parent should have access to. For example, if you have the following events: Grade 9 Counseling Appointments and Grade 10 Counseling Appointments, you would uselists the unique EventID for each event andon associateyour thisaccount.

    For multiple events per parent: Separate EventIDs with the parent.

    To include multiple EventIDs, simply separate the IDs by a semi-colonsemicolon, and include no spaces (e.g., 28972x;28973x)28973x. IfParents you includewith multiple EventIDs, parentsEventIDs will then see a drop-down andletting canthem toggle between anytheir ofassigned theevents.

    Step 2: Import this file using the pickAtimeFile

    Importer:

    OnGo to the Importer option in the left-hand sidedashboard. dashboard,Set selectData Type to "School." Select your event from the Importer option. Here, you would be able to see pickAtime Importer (Data Importer):

      Data type - set the radio button to 'School' Event -drop-down. selectSet File Type to "Parents (optional)." Click Select File, choose your 'event name' from drop-down File type - select 'parents (optional)' File - select the parent file on your computerfile, and click 'Open'Open. ThenClick click 'Import' buttonImport.

      Result

      WhenOnce aimported, parent logs in, theyparents will be automatically directed to the correct event.event(s) when they log in.
